First annual data symposium!

Details

Are you wondering what it takes to get a job working with data? Join us in hearing two great talks at Sacramento WID's first annual data symposium!

Please arrive on time as we will aim to start right at 7:00 to give plenty of time for Q&A with our speakers. Both of these talks are well-suited for data consumers to data transitioners.

We will hear from:

Duncan Temple Lang (Director, UC Davis Professor) and Pamela Reynolds (Academic Coordinator): UC Davis Data Science Initiative
“"Becoming a Data Scientist"
Duncan is also one of the original contributors to "R" (one of the most common data science languages)!

Nora Forbes: Statistician, Medtronic
"Exploring medical data through a statistical lens: a career in biostatistics"
Nora has a wide variety of experience from statistical consulting to working for the world's largest medical device company.

This will be followed by a networking and socializing hour (~8-9 PM). There will also be pizza and soda there.

I am excited to see you all! If you have never been to a Women in Data-Sacramento meeting, we welcome you to take part in our community and spread the word to friends and colleagues!
