What we’re about
Stoicism is a philosophy that emphasizes acceptance of one's circumstances, equanimity, striving to improve what's in one's control, and influencing "preferable" outcomes for the world. There is a lot of overlap with Buddhist philosophy and meditation practice, and in fact many of us do practice meditation in other communities and individually, so if you're drawn to mindfulness practice, please consider joining! Theists, agnostics, and atheists are welcome, as Stoicism is an umbrella philosophy that has many sub-groups within it!
This group is for anyone interested in learning about Stoic philosophy in a group setting and developing a community for like-minded individuals, regardless of identity groups.
We have been on a hiatus for a while, as leadership of the group changed and the pandemic interrupted us, but now we're getting back into meeting and doing things together.
