What we're about

Hello! This group is dedicated to adults who love camping. We are open to both couples and singles who enjoy a more primitive style of camping. We will also have a few drive-up site trips a year to accommodate any members with disabilities and for those who don’t enjoy primitive camping. All skill levels welcome!

This is not a dating club. We are group oriented and safety focused. The goal is to meet new people and have a great time being outdoors!

We will have approximately 1 meet-up every month. Most trips will require traveling to a state park or public lands & carpooling will be available.

Our meetups are focused on multi-day camping trips and most trips will be on the weekends. Again, we mostly host primitive camping trips. Once camp is set up, most day activities will be planned. However, day activities are optional and “chilling by the fire” is totally acceptable.

If you join, please remember to leave all ego and pride at home and come with a great attitude. We really hope you decide to join us and we can’t wait until our next meet-up!!!

***Frequently Asked Questions***

1. Q. Are dogs allowed on the trips?

A. No, unfortunately not. For many reasons, Furry friends must stay home.

2. Q. Are children allowed?

A. We require everyone to be 18 or older.

3. Q. Can we bring friends or a spouse?

A. Yes, absolutely! However, everyone needs a profile. (For safety reasons.)

Hill Country State Natural Area - Camping Trip

Hill Country State Natural Area

****You participate in each camping event at your own risk. We do not provide safety or medical assistance*******

This trip will be a drive up site camping trip to Hill Country State Natural Area in BANDERA, TX. About 1 hr outside San Antonio from May 14th-16th. This is NOT extreme primitive. It’s only a 1 minute walk to the campsite and the terrain is easy, but we are secluded enough. There is NO POTABLE WATER anywhere in the park!! You will need to bring your own!!! There is a river near by which you can filter water from as well.

This park allows both tents and hammocks! Choose what fits you best! I have a PDF for anyone that need assistance in what to bring. Message me for it.

(Masks are optional for those concerned about covid-19. Please do not come if you are sick or are worried you may have the ‘Rona. You are responsible for your own health!)

We are limited to 24 people for this trip. Everyone must have their own profile.

******NO DOGS & NO ONE UNDER 18******

We will meet at the Academy located at Bandera Rd. Everyone must meet at this location to either carpool or caravan together to the park.

If you do leave your car at Academy, please be advised that neither meetup.com or this primitive camping group is responsible for any accidents or thefts that may occur to your vehicle. (Carpoolers will share cost of gas)

You will need to provide contact information but please do not post your phone number or e-mail in the comments section. You can message me closer to the date of the event.

——COST——
1. If you have a state park pass, this trip will cost you $5. ($5 owed to Cullen for camping permit fee)

2. If you do not have a state park pass, this trip will cost you $23. ($18 to the park for entry and $5 to Cullen for the camping permit.)

3. If you do not want to pay the $18 entry fee, I suggest meeting at Academy and Carpooling with Cullen or other campers who have a state park pass. Their are several.

HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!!!!

Palmetto State Park - Camping Trip

Location visible to members

****You participate in each camping event at your own risk. We do not provide safety or medical assistance*******

This trip will be a site-camping trip to Palmetto State Park from June 4-6. Site-camping means we will drive up to the camping spot and walk about 20 feet to the site.

This will be a hot one!! Camping in the middle of June takes some guts. However, there is a cold river less than a minutes walk away to cool yourself off!

(Masks are optional for those concerned about covid-19. Please do not come if you are sick or are worried you may have the ‘Rona. You are responsible for your own health!)

We are limited to 50 people for this trip. Everyone must have their own profile.

******NO DOGS & NO ONE UNDER 18******

We will meet at the park since it is so close.
You will need to provide contact information but please do not post your phone number or e-mail in the comments section. You can message me closer to the date of the event.

——COST——
You will be responsible for paying your own entry fee into the park. The entry fee is $6. If you have a state park pass, this trip will be free as I have already paid for the camping sites.

HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!!!!
