What we’re about
Hello! This group is dedicated to adults who love camping. Our meetups are focused on multi-day camping trips and most trips will be on the weekends. We will have approximately 1 meet-up every month. Most trips will require traveling to a state park or public lands & carpooling will be available. Some of the trips will be primitive and others will be site-camping trips. All skill levels welcome!
This is not a dating club. We are group oriented and safety focused. The goal is to meet new people and have a great time being outdoors!
If you join, please remember to leave all ego and pride at home and come with a great attitude. We really hope you decide to join us and we can’t wait until our next meet-up!!!

2. Q. Are children allowed?
A. We require everyone to be 18 or older.
3. Q. Can we bring friends or a spouse?
A. Yes, absolutely! However, everyone needs a profile. (For safety reasons.)

Here in South Texas we get to enjoy the extended summer season, so lets go spend the last warm days of the year on the beach at Padre Island National Seashore (PINS).
We will start with camping on the beach Friday nite. The days are warm and the nights are cool. So lets have a fire, roast some dogs, and enjoy the sounds of the surf.
On Saturday we can enjoy our coffee watching the waves, then go to the Laguna Madre Bird Island Basin day use area for Windsurfing, Paddle Boarding, and/or Kayaking. Worldwinds Windsurfing opens at noon and offers rentals as well as instruction for a fee. Plan ahead and make your reservations online, or bring your own equipment for free. (See Link Below)
Saturday nite we can kick back with a beach fire and watch the stars. Remember to bring your jackets and favorite beverages.
Sunday morning you are at your leisure to stay or leave as you like.
We visited end of September and Brian and Deanna took the lessons and windsurfed the entire afternoon while I kayaked. The Bird Island Basin day use area is located near the Malaquite Visitors Center within PINS. It is inland waters with mild winds and no waves that make it desirable for the floating water sports.
This will be a no fee, chill on the beach weekend. The Camping Club will provide a nice beach fire, but will not be providing dinner or breakfast. Although, if you need help burning your hot dogs, I am happy to lend a hand!!
We will camp withing the first 3~4 miles down the beach and typically have no problems with cars getting stuck in the sand. But if that happens, we have enough 4 wheel drives to get anybody that needs help back on down the road.
