Practice/learn armored/rapier combat, arts & crafts, medieval dance, socialize!
Come and join us every Monday night at 7:30pm at Verdugo Park in Burbank, 3201 West Verdugo, Burbank, CA 91505, (near the tennis courts). We have about 40-50 people who attend this weekly practice. Monday night activities include practicing and learning armored combat, rapier fighting, youth combat, arts and crafts, medieval dancing, cooking, and more. Or just come socialize! There's no need to bring anything or have prior experience if you'd like to try your hand at any of the combat forms. It's free and fun! This is a group for anyone interested in researching and recreating the Middle Ages - whether it be armored combat, rapier fighting, archery, equestrian mounted combat/jousting, medieval costuming, calligraphy, leather working, wood working, metal working, cooking, camping, medieval dancing and music, weaving and fiber arts, belly dancing, and more! We are a big, diverse, and welcoming group. Every 4th Monday of the month we have a newcomer's meeting so that people can find out more about our worldwide organization called The Society for Creative Anachronism. And don't forget to join our Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/baronyofaltavia/ to find out about all our events and classes! Find out more about us at www.sca-altavia.org.
