Apache Beam!

Details
Specifics for arrival still to be posted. Food/Drinks are sponsored and available to attendees.
For those unfamiliar with Beam it is unlikely you've made it this far, but in case useful: https://beam.apache.org/
For our initial meetup, we will have 2 speakers, Andrew Pilloud and Kenn Knowles.
Andrew Pilloud, a software engineer at Google and Beam committer, will demo the latest feature in Beam SQL: a standalone SQL shell. The talk cover why SQL is a good fit for streaming data processing, the technical details of the Beam SQL engine, and a peek into our future plans.
Kenn Knowles, a founding PMC Member and incoming PMC Chair for the Apache Beam project, as well as computer scientist and engineer at Google will share about all things Beam. Where it is, where its been, where its going.
This event is sponsored by Google (Beam has Google origins as the DataFlow Model: https://ai.google/research/pubs/pub43864, which is a reason it is a sensible host to kickoff these Bay Area talks). It is projected we will have the next Meetup at Lyft in San Francisco in early 2019, and will rotate venues after that.
