What we're about
Upcoming events (1)
We're making herchurch Connection Cards to share, trade, keep and most of all, to cultivate connection through art and community. The idea is to make 2 1/2" by 3 1/2" cards that have a positive sentiment or just visually suggest connection, in your own interpretation, and then to mail them to each other!
In addition to the paper collages we usually do to create these cards, let's make some with fabric! Use scraps, old clothes, old sheets . . . and let's see how it works! Buttons, embroidery thread, old jewelry are fun to include too.
I will demonstrate how to make these sweet little cards which are the same size as Artist Trading Cards and baseball cards. The link will be sent privately to those who have RSVPed. If you don't see it, just drop me a line at[masked].
The emphasis will be on using what you have around your house. The project works very well with whatever bits and bobs you have around!
-scissors and glue
-materials to collage (magazines, old book pages, art scraps, scrapbook paper, junk mail . . .)
-fabric scraps, lace, etc (if you wish)
-rubber stamps to use as focal and as background images
-you might like to stamp them on thicker paper and color them in and cut them out to use as focal images
-cardstock or thin cardboard (cereal boxes work great!)
