What we're about

This is a group for anyone who is interested in the Bible. If you want to better understand its stories and teachings or why it matters in your life today, this is the group for you. At every gathering we will read and discuss the text together so that we can understand and live out the message that we observe. Whether you'd describe yourself as a seasoned Christian or you've never read the Bible before, all are welcome. We look forward to growing together!

Inner Sunset: 1 Corinthians

Tart To Tart

By the time the apostle Paul wrote this letter to some of the earliest Christians, they had already begun to make some critical errors regarding the way they thought about "church," the way they worshipped, the way they treated each other, and the way they interacted with the world around them. Join us as we read about a chapter per week and discuss how to apply these teachings in today's religious world. Our goal will be to simply let the text guide us as we approach it with open minds and open hearts. Everyone is welcome, regardless of religious affiliation or amount of experience studying the Bible.

North Beach/Russian Hill: The Letter of James

Caffe Greco

Did you know that Jesus' brother James wrote a letter that is included in the Bible? Distinct in style from other New Testament letters, it is often compared to the book of Proverbs in the Old Testament due to its practical teaching conveyed in pithy statements. Why did James write? To whom was he writing? Does it carry any meaning or value for people some 2,000 years later? Join us as we explore his writing and sort through its applications for us today. Our goal is to cover about a chapter a night by reading and discussing the text together. All are welcome to join regardless of background or familiarity with the Bible. Feel free to invite others as well!

Financial District: The Psalms

Capital One 360 Cafe - go downstairs

The Psalms contain some of the richest texts in the Bible, covering a wide range of subjects, with some of the most candid expressions of human emotion. Furthermore, many of these writings contain fascinating Messianic prophecies as the authors looked ahead to the life and work of Jesus Christ. We hope to provide a weekly opportunity for those who might be able to spend their midday lunch break reading and discussing God's Word. Since each study will be more or less self-contained, feel free to drop in whenever your schedule allows. Invite your friends and coworkers, feel free to bring some lunch, and let's enjoy these beautiful Scriptures together.
