*****

This is a group for anyone who is interested in the Bible. If you want to better understand its stories and teachings or why it matters in your life today, this is the group for you. At every gathering we will read and discuss the text together so that we can understand and live out the message that we observe. Whether you'd describe yourself as a seasoned Christian or you've never read the Bible before, all are welcome. We look forward to growing together!

We're meeting for worship in a member's home right now. We'd love for you to join us!

Details:
– We are a small church of believers who simply identify as Christians and use the Bible as our only source of authority.
– Worship is from 10 am until around 11:30 am.
– After a short break, Bible study is from 11:45 – 12:15 PM.
– We supply bread and grape juice for communion, but you are welcome to bring your own if you'd like.

If you'd like to learn more about the church or hear previous sermons, visit our website (https://missionchurchsf.org).

Online: 1 Corinthians

Needs a location

This study will be hosted online using Zoom

When reading 1 Corinthians, it quickly becomes apparent that this church has issues and they need help understanding their problems and doing the right things to solve them. Doesn't that seem familiar? In this study, we will explore the historical and spiritual context of the letter to understand better what is being written so that we can then apply it to our own spiritual lives and thus, in our churches.

All are welcome to join!

Luke's Account of the Gospel

Needs a location

This study will be hosted in person.

Written by Luke to someone named Theophilus (Luke 1.4), this account of the gospel tells the story of Jesus in a way that emphasizes both the historicity of His birth, ministry, and death as well as how it fulfills God's plan to save both Jew and Gentile alike. As we read Luke's account of Jesus' life and message together, we will explore its themes and applications as well as have an honest discussion about our own questions and what may be a challenge for us. We hope to facilitate an honest exploration and discussion of this portion of God's word to help others come to faith and/or deepen the faith that they have.

All are welcome to join!

Online: Leviticus - A Call to Holiness

Needs a location

This event will be hosted online via Zoom.

What is your calling? And from where does your calling originate?

The first words of the book of Leviticus are, “and he called.” Leviticus picks up in the middle of the Exodus narrative which sees the Israelites triumphantly rescued from slavery in Egypt by the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. The Israelites now stand at the base of Mt. Sinai where God’s presence had previously descended upon its summit and has now moved to the tent that Moses constructed according to God’s plan.

“Then the LORD called to Moses and spoke to him from the tent of meeting, saying…”
— (Leviticus 1.1, NASB)

Well, a lot. But ultimately God's call is, “be holy because I, the LORD your God, am holy” (Leviticus 19.2, NIV). What God says to Moses reveals as much about who we are as it does who God is. Join us, Thursdays, as we examine God’s calling to His people.
