This months speaker(s) are: Cristian Gonzalez of MEGO Games and Jehan Tremback of Althea Mesh.

Micro transactions could be a critical feature for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, but with countless technical challenges it's currently rare to see it implemented in the wild. This month we are going to hear from the creators of two projects that are at the forefront when it comes to using micro-transactions to solve real world problems.

Cristian Gonzalez is CEO of MEGO, one of the most notorious game studios in South America. Makers of the BitQuest Minecraft cryptocurrency mod and Hammercoin, the first MMO game denominated in Bitcoin. Cristian will talk about their game which implements player to player microtransactions using the Bitcoin network. Their goal is to create new kinds of game economies where players become relevant actors, as opposed to a walled garden system tightly controlled by a platform.

Jehan Tremback, founder and lead protocol designer at Althea Mesh, will talk about how his project is using payment channels for microtransactions to replace big ISPs with a decentralized, incentivized mesh network. Althea is a system that lets routers pay each other for bandwidth, where your device automatically buys bandwidth from whichever provider is cheaper and faster, whether that’s your neighbor or an independent ISP.

We'll have free beer, other beverages and food as usual (the food usually goes quickly)

See you then!
