A SQL Server Developer's Toolkit

Details

Speaker: Kirsten Benzel, Database Engineer at SurveyMonkey

Kirsten will explain the Developer Lifecycle with a focus on T-SQL scripts, from booting up and configuring a brand new machine, diving headfirst into new databases, all the way to getting comfortable and advancing your career through training and networking.

She is a Developer who was "raised" by DBAs. She never made "typical" newbie developer mistakes but didn't appreciate this until recently. She believes that you can't be a great developer unless you're also a good DBA. Her career perspective is grounded in OTJ training and there are advantages and pitfalls to that which she'll cover.
Kirsten will demo a few of her favorite scripts and will make them available to the group.
