Resume Workshop for the New Reality

  • Feb 25, 2014 · 9:00 AM
  • Valencia Gardens

How long has it been since you needed a resume? If it’s more than a year or two, the world of resumes has changed dramatically. Recruiters tell us that they spend between four and six seconds on a resume to determine if they will read on. That is, if the resume even makes it past the resume robot (aka Applicant Tracking Systems or Automated Resume Screeners).

Let us help you understand what’s needed to make it past the bot and make the most of those few seconds in front of a live human. We will also discuss how to effectively use LinkedIn to finish telling your story.

Where do we start? At SFPCN this Tuesday.

The workshop will be led by Howard Mullinack

Howard is the executive director of SFPCN. His passion is helping individuals and organizations advance in their goals.

Howard’s a lifelong sales, marketing and branding professional. For more than 30 years, he worked in the broadcast equipment industry in positions ranging from VP of sales and product to CEO, developing, selling and marketing hardware and software used by television and radio networks and stations.

He currently runs, providing Macintosh consulting, upgrades, and data recovery for professionals, businesses and individuals. He volunteers his time on the week long AIDS/LifeCycle fund raising ride and leading SFPCN.

Connect with Howard on LinkedIn.

Program Schedule

We open the doors at 900 am for networking. The program begins at 915 am and finishes by 1100 am. You are welcome to stay and network with the speaker and your peers up to 1130 am.

$2.00 donation requested.

As a career development consultant/coach, Linked In specialist and resume writer, I 'm really curious about the offerings at Valencia Gardens. . but it's rush hour . I am not located near a BART line. . I agree with Petra .. is there anyway to live stream /record these presentations? So many more could benefit and particpate for the same $2.00 donation

    Dear Howard:

Unfortunately I can't make it, but would love to learn about this.
    2 thoughts:
    * Will there be a slide-deck or other info that could be made available to the group after the event?
    * Alternatively calling into the session might give access to people who can't travel to the meeting on a given day.
