Bring a laptop with your preferred development environment set up and a unit testing framework that you are familiar with.

We will work in pairs on a codebase that violates one or more of the SOLID principles. We will identify what the violations are, write tests and then refactor the code so that it conforms to SOLID.

A brief overview/recap of the 5 SOLID principles will be given before we start.

Food will be offered as usual. The evening will continue in a nearby pub.

The LeaderBoard kata

The code base that we will use for the Coding Dojo is called LeaderBoard. It's one the 5 racing car katas that Luca Minudel created for those who want to improve their skills with TDD and SOLID principles. The code can be found in Emily Bache's repository: https://github.com/emilybache/Racing-Car-Katas/ . There is a folder for each of the programming language that the 5 racing car katas were translated into (C#, Java, C++, Ruby, Python, JavaScript and Scala).

It might be a good idea to download the code before the event.
