Curious about sumo wrestling? Interested in viewing matches with other Sumo fanatics, and learning more about this fascinating ancient sport? This is the meetup for you! We will be meeting every two months in San Francisco at a friendly spot in Japantown to watch the live tournaments broadcast from Japan! Come visit with other sumo devotees, and learn about the sport and the interesting characters who devote their lives to these incredible competitions!

I started watching past sumo matches, and learning about the famous wrestlers who compete professionally in this amazing sport. There's a ton of sumo on youtube, but my favorite videos are the sumo digests put out by Kintamayama, who distills all of the long sumo tournaments down into 15-minute watchable short matches, where you can quickly learn the lingo and the various moves used by the wrestlers.
