What we're about

it has been a long time since we all threw some cards together. I hope you and your families are well during these crazy times. The time has come to fire up our social games again (with a few changes).

* * * * * COVID ADAPTIONS * * * * *

1) Masks will be required while at the table.

2) You will need to show fully vaxed cards to enter.

3) We will run 1 table only, 9 handed.

4) Hand sanitizer will be available in all areas of the living room as well as the front door when entering.

Snacks will not be provided. Please get water, soda, snacks before coming

This is a friendly and social home game for casual to mid-level experienced poker players looking to have fun and meet other poker enthusiasts.

Open to men and women. Arrivals are requested between 6:45pm and 6:55pm so the game can start promptly at 7:00pm.

The game is $1 / $1 / $2 cash game.

RSVPs open 1 week before the event and close day of the event at 2:00 PM.

If you commit to attending, please be considerate of your fellow players and make every effort to show up. Please note... "No Shows" and people who chronically cancel same day, hours before the event, will not be removed from the group, however you will be moved the waitlist so others who make the commitment can play.

$1 / $1 / $2 cash game ($500 max buy-in)

The game is NL Texas Hold 'Em, cash game. Max buy-in of $500 and can reload up to $500 any time. $1 on the button, $1 on the SB and $2 on the BB and they do not go up. Everyone deals (unless a player is uneasy dealing, they can pass their deal to someone else, but of course still keep their button). Any misdeals will result in a re-deal. None of us are professional dealers and mistakes will happen. :-)

I do not have a rule requiring players to stay until 11:00 PM. The benefit of a cash game is you can leave whenever you want. Be mindful that a player who, over time, gets labeled as someone who "hits and runs", usually finds themselves not being welcomed to future events. Let general poker etiquette guide your actions.

One player per hand. (It's only fair. No discussions about possible holdings or potential hands can be discussed while there is action left to be played)

Heads up, the two players can talk all they want. Others should remain quiet about possible holdings.

Re-raises need to be double the initial raise amount to be a complete raise.

Prop bets are fine, but no one is required to participate. i.e. if some players want to have side bets on flop coordination (all red vs black or more red vs black or a specific suit vs another)... feel free.

Live bets (straddles) can only be done "under the gun" (to the left of the big blind) and cannot be more than 1/2 your stack. Anyone wanting to come in must open for at least the amount of the straddle. A player to the left of a straddle (UTG-2) can do a second straddle, but it is a dead bet and will not have the option to raise when action comes around.

When heads up, two players can run it as many times as they want but neither player is required and cannot be pushed into running it more than once.

House Rules: Strictly enforced!

Cards must be shuffled on the table and cut by the person to the right of the dealer. (if they are indisposed, someone else can cut)

Player's hands must always remain on or above the table. A player's hand taken below the table is a dead hand, at ANY stage of the hand.

Verbal or Action can both be binding. If the bet is $25 and a player puts in $100 chip THEN says "raise". It is a call.

Single Chip rule. It is a call, unless "raise" is specified.

* * * Friendly Reminder * * *

Tilt is a guy that pops up at any time and can rattle even the most emotionally stable player. We all go on tilt at some point, (I live in tilt-land) but berating of any player's decisions/actions will be warned once and once only.

No house rake, just bring a good attitude along with your favorite drink.

This group is a social one with varying levels of experience designed to be fun, relaxing and meeting others with a passion for poker. I look forward to tossing the cards around with you.
