Let’s run (and hikethis absolutely beautiful coastal mountain route. The first stretch is the biggest climb going up from sea level at Gray whale Cove the trails up the west side of Montara Mountain all the way to the peak. The peak provides amazing views 360° if it’s not foggy. If it is foggy, The run is still super cool because the fog looks cool and crates great depth. From there we will go down partway and head north down into San Pedro Park to loop back up. At the bottom of San Pedro Park is a restroom and water fountain that we will stop that quickly before heading back up, passing through redwoods and a hopefully flowing view of the waterfall. Once we get back up to the Ridge, we will head west down Montara Mountain, and up to the lower San Pedro mountain, and then drop down over double slide with dramatic views down the cliffs to the ocean. 12 miles is the long version, but the roots can be easily tailored shorter for anyone who does not want to do the full amount. Water and sunscreen is recommended and perhaps a running jacket depending on weather.
