San Francisco Ukulele Rebellion!

San Francisco Ukulele Rebellion met on Zoom for the first time on April 18, 2020. We return from our short break just in time to celebrate our third anniversary on Zoom, As we did for our previous anniversaries, we'll celebrate by playing your favorite songs and songs that helped you get through the Covid-19 pandemic. Please consider sharing favorite songs that you have not previously shared in a San Francisco Ukulele Rebellion Zoom meetup. We'll play music from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm Pacific Daylight Time.

The Zoom link will appear on this page when you RSVP. If Zoom asks for a passcode, the passcode is always Rebellion. The passcode is case-sensitive.

If you'd like to lead a song, please let me know, either by posting here in the comments or by email, which song(s) you would like to lead. The cut-off time for requesting to lead a song is THE TUESDAY BEFORE THE MEETING (for this meeting, Tuesday April 23), even if you're going to be leading a song from one of the Daily Ukulele books. I'll post a songlist here in advance of our meeting.

IF YOU'D LIKE TO LEAD A SONG USING SHEET MUSIC OR A CHORD CHART THAT ISN'T IN EITHER THE YELLOW BOOK OR THE BLUE BOOK, EMAIL THE DOCUMENT TO ME IN DIGITAL FORMAT IN ADVANCE SO THAT I CAN UPLOAD IT TO DROPBOX AND POST IT ON THE SCREEN FOR OTHERS.

PLEASE NOTE: To accommodate all first song requests, we may not have time to get to all second (or third) song requests. When asking to lead more than one song, please indicate your first and second choices to ensure that, if we can't get to your second request, the song you'd most like to lead is included in that evening's song list. Thank you in advance for your willingness to lead songs and your understanding about how the song list for each meeting is prepared.

To participate, you will need to download the Zoom app to whatever device you'll be using (there are Apple, Android, and desktop (Mac and PC) versions). To be seen and heard, you will need a device with a built in camera and microphone or a device to which you have attached a webcam. THIS IS AN IN-PERSON MEETUP!
As we did in the before days, we'll play from The Daily Ukulele (the Yellow Book) and The Daily Ukulele Leap Year Edition (the Blue Book). Please bring your instrument(s), a floor or table music stand, your singing voices, and your fabulous ukulele spirit!

We'll go around the room so that everyone can pick songs to play. If you pick a song, you will be encouraged (but not required) to lead it. If you'd like to let the group know in advance which songs you plan to select, please post the songs you choose in the comments, and we'll play one of those songs each time it's your turn to pick a song. You can also brings songs to share that are not in the Yellow Book or the Blue Book; just please bring enough copies of the sheet music to share.

A donation of $5 to defray Meetup website costs (and to tip our hosts) is appreciated. San Francisco Ukulele Rebellion logo kazoos will be available for purchase.
