Kayaking for fitness - speed and endurance training

Globally, kayaking is becoming a popular fitness tool. It started getting recognition as a fitness activity because adventure races usually involved a kayaking leg. And so, more and more people began training in kayaks.

It didn't take long for people to realize that kayaking was a great alternative and complement to other fitness activities, such as biking or jogging.

Contrary to common belief, when performed correctly, kayaking is an activity that employs the entire body. Almost all muscle groups and body parts are utilized in one way or another while kayaking, dispelling the idea that kayaking mainly works the arms.

So what are we hoping to achieve this evening?

1. To develop fitness and endurance.
2. To allow individuals the opportunity to develop their own personal kayak training routines to help them build their overall fitness levels.
3. To provide an open air venue that will compliment any indoor training routines being performed in people's weekly fitness routines.

Cost:
Kayak Rental is HK$100 per person. Payable to Sea Kayak Hong Kong as always.

Timetable:
From Central: Catch the 18:45 ferry to Sok Kwu Wan - arriving SKW at 7:15. Hike to the kayak base to get changed and on the water by 20:00.
Returning: We will do approximately 90 minutes of paddle training finishing at 21:30 allowing time to pack away the equipment, get changed and make the 22:40 ferry to Central

WHAT TO BRING?
A head torch with a red light.

IMPORTANT:
Don't be late.
