Take a break from eating at your desk and enjoy some time to quiet the mind and find perspective. FREE meditation every Tuesday 12:00-1:00pm at the Downtown YMCA (4th and Marion). Each session includes both instruction and guided meditation. The theme for learning about the practice of patience and how to overcome frustration. Taught by Gen Khedrub, a western Buddhist monk for over 20 years and the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center Washington. These FREE weekly classes provide an opportunity to learn how to meditate and how to use our experience of meditation to positively affect all aspects of our daily life. Class size ranges from 10-20 people each week, with many regulars. The purpose of meditation is to make our mind calm and peaceful. If our mind is peaceful, we will be free from worries and mental discomfort and experience true happiness and relaxation. Gen Khedrub has been ordained as a Buddhist monk since 1995. My buddies have been playing here since the lockdown. Great way to release some stress. This is an easy pickup game where you jump in to play . Then say bye when your done. Look for the orange cones with the most players in the middle of Green Lake Field. This will be an easy going game for people who love the game, or just coming back. If requested, we could also incorporate some practice drills and the like. Please RSVP! This is a new event, and I need to know you're coming! Please bring water, a white and black shirt, and a ball if you have one. Turf shoes are recommended. Shin guards are optional. Come early to split into teams! Lot's of players will be here ! Wow what a blast!! Lets do it again. Forecast for a sunny day. Lets not waste it. Looks like Sun a good turn out. Soccer is heating Up. Come earlier please ! Bring sweats and a sweater! Free Weekly Yoga with Craft Yoga Collective Free yoga classes, taught by members of the Craft Yoga Collective. Classes are always all-levels and open to anyone and everyone. Just bring a mat and meet us on the Mezzanine level! Each Tuesday evening at 6:30 PM !! Arrive early ! Please bring your own mat and plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before class to check-in. But don’t worry...we’ll focus on being present in the moment, being calm and flexible. Yoga is meant to be a positive experience whether you've been doing yoga for years or this is your first time. What should I bring? Bring a yoga mat if you have one. We will have a few on hand in case you forget. What should I wear? Wear something comfy but also fitted, as you don’t want your clothing to interfere with your yoga poses. How much does it cost? Nothing! It’s FREE. We consider this a worship experience for all interested in stretching their mind, body and spirit. We will have a donation basket if you’d like to contribute something, but no pressure.
