Ben Shneiderman: Event analytics with EventFlow

Details
Update: there will be pizza, sponsored by the UXPA!
Doors at 6:30, presentation at 7:30.
Please join us welcoming visualization luminary Ben Shneiderman to speak on the topic of event analytics, using a new tool called EventFlow (http://hcil.umd.edu/eventflow/). I saw a demo of EventFlow at the end of July and found it very interesting. Ben is a wonderful speaker; this talk will be useful and fun.
You may know Ben from his textbook Designing the User Interface (https://www.amazon.com/Designing-User-Interface-Human-Computer-Interaction/dp/013438038X/), his invention of the treemap visualization (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treemapping), and the Shneiderman information-seeking mantra:
"Overview first, zoom and filter, then details on demand (http://www.ifp.illinois.edu/nabhcs/abstracts/shneiderman.html)" (though for big data, "zoom and filter" might be step 1).
For this event please keep your RSVP up to date. We anticipate it being well-attended, and would appreciate an accurate attendance count for space planning needs.
Note: RSVPs close the Tuesday before the event.
