Update on the 2021 Washington State Legislative Session With a Focus on Climate

John Stafford is our featured speaker for our 25 April Climate Solutions Conversation. April 25th is the last scheduled day of the 2021 WA State Legislative Session. John will provide an update on what was accomplished, particularly as it relates to climate change. John will also speak about legislation requiring the teaching of climate change in grades K-12, a topic he is passionate about.
John Stafford teaches history at Mercer Island High School. John's first career was as a business consultant to U.S. corporations on business strategy. John is a long-standing climate activist; he's on the Steering Committee of the South Seattle Climate Action Network (SSCAN), he's a member of the 37th District Democrats Environment and Climate Caucus, and he's a Board Member of the Environment and Climate Caucus of the Washington State Democrats. John is also on the Board of the 37th District Democrats and is a frequent guest editorialist on politics and policy for the South Seattle Emerald.
