Master Gardeners Jim Little and Molly van der Burch will discuss the impact of climate change on our gardens and landscapes and how we can adapt to those changes. They'll describe how we can make our gardening more climate-friendly by reducing our gardening greenhouse gas emissions and by storing atmospheric CO2 in plants and soil via photosynthesis. Jim and Molly will also point you to some resources that can guide you in making your own garden climate friendly.
Bios:
Jim Little became a Master Gardener in 2011 and is on the leadership team for the University District Farmers Market Master Gardener Clinic. Jim is a co-host of the Seattle Climate Action Meetup Group and a co-founder of the Climate Advocates Hub of Seattle-King County.
A native Seattleite, Molly has served on the Northwest Perennial Alliance Board and the Bellevue Botanical Garden Society Board. In 2009, Molly became a Master Gardener and works at the Mercer Island and Crossroads clinics. She has a garden consulting business, designing gardens and coaching clients on pruning, containers, and plant choices.
