๐ Sentry Scouts Monthly Meetup #1: Open Source
Details
Ah, yes... January. The month of remembering how to be productive with a post-holiday carb hangover, the month of new years resolutions, and coincidentally, the month of our first-ever Sentry Scouts Meetup! ๐
We're thrilled to be kicking off the new year with the first of 12 monthly Sentry Scouts events! What can you expect at a Sentry Scouts meetup?
-A diverse panel of speakers + open discussion with attendees
-Ignite karaoke (among many other fun camp-themed activities)
-Commemorative "Open Source" patches/stickers (we're serious about this "scouts" thing)
-Good food. Camp food. S'mores anyone?
Our Sentry Scouts meet-ups are intended to be an open discussion. Think of it as gathering around the campfire and swapping stories with featured panel speakers, fellow engineers, and friends! We'll start with a panel with industry professionals, and open it up to the rest of the scouts. We look forward to seeing you there!
Our first meet-up will be all about Open Source (which we know a thing or two about here at Sentry)! Come hear some great speakers, chat with some cool people, and have some s'mores on us.
Schedule:
6:30-7 Mingling/snacks/beverages
7-7:30 Welcome Ceremony/Powerpoint karaoke to kick things off
7:30-8 Interesting Speakers talk about open source around our (metaphorical) campfire
8-8:30 You join the discussion (we open the panel up to our attendees to ask questions/share stories/etc.)!
8:30-9 You get your patch, and get to celebrate (AKA Choose your own adventure!: Mingle/eat more snacks/informal Q&A/catch the BART home)!
Do you have what it takes to earn our Open Source patch*? We look forward to seeing you 1/17! ๐
*Of course you do- you literally just have to show up... seriously.
Our panelists at this event will include:
Ali Finkelstein (Developer / Developer Evangelist at Stellar.org)
Josh Dzielak (Developer Relations Lead at Algolia)
Zac Sweers (Senior Software Engineer / Android at Uber)
Franziska von der Goltz (Software Engineer at Buoyant, Inc)
Nathan LeClaire (Senior Engineer at Honeycomb.io)
Scott Chacon (CEO, Chatterbug)
We expect all of our attendees to follow our Code of Conduct (see main meet-up page for link).
