Kadampa Meditation Center Boston offers an wide program of meditation classes, study programs, and retreats. The methods and practices taught at the center are suitable for all individuals, whatever your level of interest. By following Buddha’s special advice, we can relax our mind, dissolve our pain and fear, and become of greater benefit to others.
A typical class consists of a gentle relaxation meditation, teaching, discussion, and a concluding meditation. The meditations are guided and are suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Each class is self-contained so feel free to join at any time!
Our Resident Teacher is Gen Kelsang Khedrub, a Buddhist monk for over 25 years, who has taught around the USA since 1997.
We offer ongoing meditation classes in Cambridge, Back Bay, Newton, and Portland, ME. In addition we also hold retreats, day workshops, and special events, all of which are open to everyone regardless of background or experience.

Buddhist Ritual 101 - a meditation workshop
Saturday, May 4 - 10:00am to 12:30pmCurious about what is in the shrine? Ever wondered about how to use a mala, or what mantras are all about? This dynamic workshop with Gen Khedrub will explain the basics of several Buddhist rituals and symbols, and is an excellent opportunity to ask any questions.
This workshop will explain how to start a daily meditation practice, how to prepare our meditation room, how to set up a shrine, how to prepare for meditation, and the basic prayers and meditations used in Kadampa Buddhism.

Gen Kelsang Khedrub is the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center Boston. He has been studying and practicing Kadampa Buddhism under the guidance of Ven. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over 30 years. Gen Khedrub has served as a Resident Teacher in Chicago and in Seattle, and over the years he has taught special events and led meditation retreats around the country. His heartfelt teachings are presented with clarity and humor that make them accessible to everyone.
Nini Rodriguez is a sincere practitioner who first encountered Buddha's teachings at our World Peace Temple in Glen Spey, NY many years ago. Nini’s teachings are known to be joyful and accessible. She focuses mainly on how to apply Buddha’s practical wisdom in our daily activities so spiritual practice and daily life can be fully integrated. A native of Margarita Island, Venezuela and with a background of business, accounting and finance, Nini is particularly keen on helping to integrate meditation in people's busy lives, while dealing with work, school and family stress.

Our mind has limitless potential. But we can easily find ourself stuck in repetitive ways of thinking and behaving. Buddha taught many gentle methods to help us transform our mind and break free from old habits.
This Tuesday evening meditation class will take a practical look at Buddha’s wisdom teachings and how it can be applied to our modern life.
Each week will include:

Within all of us is the potential to care about each other, free from attachment and clinging. And within Buddha’s teachings we can find many techniques to access that potential for a universal love. Love enables us to become stronger, more caring and fearless.

Sarah Frew is the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center Philadelphia. She is a long-time student and practitioner of Kadampa Buddhism under the guidance of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche and has engaged in extensive Dharma study and retreat. Sarah participated in the Intensive Teacher Training Program at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre, a special course designed by Venerable Geshe-la to provide six months of intensive training for those wishing to become qualified Resident Teachers at Kadampa Buddhist centers around the world. Through her joyful and engaging manner, she shares Buddha’s teachings in a kind-hearted and warm way that makes them accessible to everyone.
