This month, The Bootmakers of Toronto will consider The Adventure of the Veiled Lodger
Meyers has noticed that Bootmakers love to chat and catch up with old friends at the beginning of each meeting, but it is all a little hurried as we wait for the meeting to begin. For the last meeting, we opened up chat rooms so that attendees could have some time for chit chat, and it was deemed a success once people figured out how they work. A Chat Room will be open at 12:30 pm for attendees to chat with old and new friends. If you would like to participate, just login; there is nothing special that you need to do. It's easy!
Our first guest speaker will be our own Chris Redmond, MBt. Chris is an internationally known Sherlockian scholar, and the author of The Sherlock Holmes Handbook, Welcome to America Mr. Sherlock Holmes, In Bed With Sherlock Holmes, Lives Beyond Baker Street, and others. He is a popular speaker and lecturer, and will be speaking to us about St. Crispin and Other Saints With Sherlockian Connections.
Our distinguished guest speaker will be Marina Stajic. In real life, Marina is a forensic toxicologist, consulting with law enforcement agencies on toxicological matters. She will inform us on Hercule Poirot: The Marrow of the Matter.
The story wrap-up will be given by Jim Ballinger, MBt , Jim is one of our musical members and has composed and performed many Sherlockian songs to amuse us. He is the author of Sherlock Holmes in Song.
Karen Campbell tests our knowledge of lions with a quiz, and Karen Gold will provide the musical interlude with her usual aplomb. George Vanderburgh will generously offer up new prizes for the winners!
I'll begin to let people into Zoom at about 12:30 pm ET for the Chat Room. Meeting formally begins at 1:00 as usual.
Note: Please make sure you MUTE yourself while our presenters are speaking!
