Hike Mishe Mokwa Trail to Sandstone Peak

Join us for a 6.1 mile scenic view hike of Malibu and reaching the highest point in the Santa Monica Mountains!

Hike Leader: Shoestring Trip Leader and Wilderness First Responder certified, Graham and Shoestring Ambassador Nate, Wilderness First Aid certified, will be leading the hike.

Trailhead Location: 12896 Yerba Buena Road, Malibu, CA

Trailhead Parking: Free parking in trail head lot and overflow.

How to get there: From Los Angeles take the Pacific Coast Highway to the far west end of Malibu. Make a right on Yerba Buena Road (just past Neptune’s Net Restaurant) and drive up Yerba Buena for 5.5 miles to the Circle X Ranch Ranger Station. Continue past the ranger station up Yerba Buena Road another mile and turn left into the Sandstone Peak trailhead parking lot. There is a bathroom at the trailhead and the Circle X Ranch Ranger Station. There is an overflow lot 0.6 mile to the east of the main lot with a connection to the Backbone Trail if Sandstone Peak trailhead is full.
