Arman Pahlavan is a corporate attorney and partner at the Perkins Coie's Emerging Companies and Private Equity groups in Palo Alto. He advises venture capital and private equity funds and their portfolio companies across their legal needs. He counsels them on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, intellectual property transactions and fund formation matters. Arman has extensive experience advising clients with emphasis on cross border transactions for corporate clients and in his investment company practice. His knowledge runs across industry lines including operating in the software information technologies, life sciences and energy.
With an aggregate transaction value measured in billions, Arman represents clients based in Silicon Valley and throughout the country and abroad. He has served as fund counsel to various funds and represented public companies and foreign private issuers in their securities matters.
Arman has been an active participant in industry symposiums and roundtables, including events sponsored by VentureOne Summit and BayBio. Topics he has spoken on include term sheet best practices and funding strategies for emerging companies and smart grid investments. Arman is active in the investment community and has been able to garner first institutional round investments and CEO placements for his clients over the years to advance their growth and funding prospects.
His private equity transactions have included TSG’s buy-out of IT Cosmetics and the leveraged buy-out Sigma International with Frontenac Capital as PEG sponsor.
Arman’s investment fund clients have included Benhamou Global Ventures, Sofinnova Ventures, Invesco, The VR Fund, Tomorrow Ventures, Vedanta Capital, Novirian Capital, Invesco Private Capital, Claremont Creek Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, Lux Capital and NEA. He has been tapped by sovereign wealth funds to establish their investment structures in the U.S. and abroad.
His emerging company clients have included Aditive Inc. (acquired by Acxiom Corporation); eCullet, NeoAccel (Acquired by VMWare - VMW: NYSE), Play First (Acquired by GlueMobile - GLUU: NASDAQ), Rodo Medical, Sonitus Medical, Signal Digital, Veritcal Response (acquired by Deluxe Corporation - DLX: NYSE), Voyage Medical (acquired by Intuitive Surgical - ISRG: NASDAQ).
Arman routinely represents Special Committees and Board of Directors of publicly traded and growth companies in connection with bet-the-company complex litigation and corporate matters.
Arman was selected by his peers for inclusion in Law & Politics magazine’s list of Northern California Super Lawyers in 2004 and 2011.

Leonard Speiser is a venture partner and co-founder of Neuron.VC, the world's first AI-only venture investment fund. The fund has invested in a private commerce company and a company that detects cancer from colonoscopy videos.
Leonard is a serial entrepreneur and has founded six successful startup companies. His last startup, Clover, sold 500K units of hardware/software to small businesses and was acquired by First Data Corporation. One of his earlier startups, Bix, was sold to Yahoo! in 2008.
Leonard has held various positions at eBay, Intuit, and Credit Suisse First Boston. He holds a B.S. from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology).

Jean Xin is an investment associate at Data Collective. Data Collective (DCVC) is a venture capital fund that invests in entrepreneurs applying deep compute, big data and IT infrastructure technologies to transform giant industries. Data Collective and its principals have backed brilliant people changing global-scale businesses for over twenty years, helping create tens of billions of dollars of wealth for these entrepreneurs while also making the world a markedly better place.
At Data Collective, Jean focuses on applying artificial intelligence to novel and high impact problems in the real world (e.g., manufacturing, materials, agriculture, healthcare), as well as improving the workplace through better enterprise technology. Prior to joining DCVC, she worked at McKinsey & Company, where she advised executive teams on company-defining decisions, including data and technology strategy and M & A. Her favorite project gave her the opportunity to define McKinsey's perspective on automation, the future of work, and machine learning.
Jean holds an S.B. from MIT in Brain and Cognitive Sciences and Management Science, where she focused on computational cognitive science and finance, respectively.

Fatih Sunor is a researcher at Nokia, focusing on contextual recommendation algorithms and several applications of deep learning. Prior to his current position a Nokia, he worked on recommendation systems with Apple Music and Netflix.
Fatih holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in computational methods, optimization and machine learning.

Adam Kraft comes from Orbital Insight, were he works on large scale computer vision and machine learning. Orbital Insight is a Geospatial big data company leveraging the rapidly growing availability of satellite, UAV, and other geospatial data sources, to understand and characterize socio-economic trends at global, regional, and hyper-local scales. Orbital Insight uses recent advances in deep learning and cloud computing to process and understand the information available in millions of images. Prior to Orbital Insight, Adam worked at another big data company, Amazon, creating computer vision solutions to search for millions of products by pointing your camera phone.
