Technology has transformed the way food is produced, managed, and distributed. Many startups in the growing field of agtech (agricultural technology) are utilizing new advances in robotics, AI, deep learning, IoT, drones, satellites, and biotech to shape the future of agriculture. AgTech first became an investment sector a few years ago and is one of the fastest growing areas of innovation. AgTech is still in its infancy and numerous opportunities for innovation and investment lie ahead.

About the Panelists:

• Jordan Wahbeh is a partner at Andra Capital and a managing partner at Bay Angels. Jordan has a strong background in engineering, business, SW development, IT, Hi-Tech, customer management, AI, big data/analytics, industrial IoT, smart home, and manufacturing. His engagements include venture capital firms, angel investor groups, accelerators, and corporate venture capital firms in Silicon Valley, across the US, Korea, Dubai, Brazil, MENA region, Kuwait, and Europe.

• Justin Butler is a partner at Eclipse Venture Capital. Justin has a deep understanding of translating basic science into successful commercial operations. His passion for full-stack investing stems from the belief that disparate hardware and software creates significant friction, and frustration, for users. He enjoys collaborating with founders who design integrated, elegant solutions resulting in a more seamless — and useful — experience for the end user. Justin is particularly interested in novel approaches to complex issues such as healthcare, multi-layer security, and distributed computation systems to support artificial intelligence.

-Salil is a Venture Partner with Draper Nexus, an advisor to a number of private & public companies and has served on a number of academic boards including UCLA's WINMEC and UCSD's center for wireless communications. In his previous life, Salil was the founder and Chief Technology Officer for HP's Enterprise RFID efforts, focused on retail and healthcare. A recognized thought leader, Salil is the founder of two startups and has been issued 43 US patents.

Salil Pradhan has a Masters in Computer Science from Northeastern University and Bachelors in Engineering from the University of Poona.
