Once, a lady told me that she doesn't see the point of saving money because her father worked very hard, saved a lot of money, but died young. So he never got the chance to enjoy his savings. That is why she doesn't save money now.

The problem is that we are conditioned to believe that we need to work hard and save money till age 60 to 65 before we can retire and enjoy our savings.

That is a mistake.

With proper Saving Money principles that we will share with you at this meetup, it is possible for everyone to save money and retire in 5 to 10 years' time.

When I first heard about this, I thought that the person saying this was lying or exaggerating, or he knows something that I don't know. After we spoke, I learned from him that there were important things about saving money that nobody talks about and that I didn't even think of were possible. The things he told me about saving money were common sense, but no one seemed to know about it or practice it, not even the finance experts.

That is why we decided to start this Saving Money meetup, to share for free how we can all save money and enjoy it sooner than most people think is possible.

We also lead another group called Freegan in Singapore (https://freeganinsingapore.wordpress.com) where we get everything we want for free. We have so much stuff that we also give it away for free. Whatever is left over we give it to poor people overseas who cannot afford to buy all these things. Actually, we get so much stuff that even if you earn $20,000 a month, you could not afford to buy everything that we get for free.

Freegan living allows us to have huge amounts of savings. It allows us to pay off a 20-year mortgage in 5 years, or even buy a home without taking on a mortgage.

At this Saving Money Meetup, our members share practical ways they use to save hundreds or thousands of dollars every month.

Some of the ways include getting free food every day, getting for free home appliances instead of buying them, offering to help friends declutter their homes and take what they don't want, getting luxury branded handbags for free and selling them for money, and so on.

So please join us and have a good time. Don't worry if you don't know much about saving money. We are here to share with everyone how we do it.

I am personally an expert when it comes how money works. Many others are knowledgeable in making money or reducing expenses. So long as you are interested in learning to increase your income or reduce your expenses, you will enjoy yourself at this meetup.
