Join me on Friday, April 26th for a night of live musical entertainment at the Primo Bar located in the Park Plaza Hotel Westminster, 200 Westminster Bridge Road SE1 7UT. Admission is free and the entertainment starts at 9.00 pm and I have reserved a table for 8.30pm so that we can all have a drink or two and get to know each. Dress code I would suggest is smart causal and of course getting there is quite easy. The name of the band performing on the night is Colombolco and I have provided a few details about them below and there is of course youtube What a better way to spend a Friday evening . "Bands don’t come more fun, frivolous and ballsy than Colomboloco. This joyous mix of Italian, Spanish, Gypsy and Ska music makes for a sound somewhere between The Godfather and the best festival band you’ve ever seen in your life. Some of the finest musicians in the capital today having easily the best time you’ve ever seen a band have on stage. Do not miss this absolute delight." Grazie mille to Adam Pickering of Sounddhism Colomboloco are the most fun you can have in London with or without your clothes on. Prepare yourself for a blitz of eccentric theatricality, wild gypsy beats, virtuoso fingerwork, wanton genre-mixing, lunatic dancing and inexplicable outfits. The devil has 5 new souls on his roster and we invite you to join them in the inferno! Colomboloco shows blend dynamic and eclectic folk Mediterranean beats from across Southern Europe with Tarantella, Classical Opera, as well as Greek, Spanish and Turkish traditional music in an epic journey around the globe worthy of Colombus himself. The band’s musicians hail from Italy, Spain, Greece and Turkey, performing in South Italian dialect, Italian, Spanish and also in English, French, Hebrew and Russian. The band enjoy residencies in many of London’s most prestigious music venues, have performed at festivals and toured across the UK and Europe, and have popped up at private parties for the likes of The Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, Gordon
• What we'll do PLEASE READ ALL INFO Free to attend, VERY informal get together bar option in Finos wine bar on the 3rd Friday of EVERY month 7pm onwards - this will be for over 40's plus or anyone with mature attitude. Another informal and unnamed 'of a certain age' group of people meets here that I (Eve) go to anyway and they have said they would welcome more people to come along to chat to. I can introduce people to people if you wish. There are some ex-Nexus and ex-Intervarsity etc. that go if you knew of those groups. Very Important : You can appreciate please that there is absolutely NO GUARANTEE how many may attend or male/female ratios but am letting people know about this possibility anyway as an additional bar option for you all. The more that come the better it will be. After all its better than staying in with cocoa and slippers ! You only need to meet a couple of interesting new people to make it a good night and increase your social circle/nights out. I am leaving this option open monthly (3rd Friday of month) for anyone who wants to come along as I go anyway. I admit its not the cheapest wine bar because of where it is but it and the staff are very pleasant, easy to find once you know, and ideal on a Friday if you fancy an evening out. Why not come for an hour or two anyway - you don't have to drink alcohol to have a good time. Check out at: http://www.finos.co.uk/finos • What to bring Please look up on how to get there - Finos Wine Bar, 123 Mount St, Basement Bar. No signal in bar - please organise travel from Bond st. Green Park is near too. Mount St is Berkeley Sq end. Bring a smile, open mind & willingness to chat and meet new people. This bar gathering will be for people at a loose end on 3rd Fri of month who wants to come along. NB: If new/nervous to any Icing events just ask for EVE - all the bar staff in here know me - I have been going here for over 20 years. • Important to know No door lists for names as public bar but if you haven't been to ANYTHING at all before please email [masked] with your mobile number and name so we can keep you informed easily of the larger dance events monthly (up to 400). I will pass that to the main Organiser of those events (Julie) so she can keep you informed of the big monthly dances.

Please note that RSVP only does not book you for this event. Please message Julie on[masked] with full name, mobile and email if you would like the link to book for June 15th for our big Summer Party. Join us for a classy night of fun socialising with the most cosmopolitan mix of sociable singles from London and the surrounding suburbs. Intros at 7pm at the bar in mixed groups followed by our Social Circle at 7.45pm to get everyone chatting and then the party with our amazing DJ until 12.30am. Members can still carry on chatting in the hotel main bar downstairs when our event has finished . We will also be holding our version of lock & key at 9pm and there will be small prizes for the first 10 couples who find each other. Tickets are £17.75 including the ice-breakers and the party with DJ. This is prepaid via the link on our website as everyone is registered with confirmed details to maintain a safe environment. RSVP ONLY DOES NOT BOOK YOU FOR THE EVENT PLEASE NOTE. All bookings are prepaid via our website. If you only RSVP the Meet Up system will send you a message saying you are booked but please ignore this message as you would have needed to have prepaid beforehand to register and have the ticket text on your mobile from our number when you arrive. Your name will also be on the guest list if you have booked. The numbers attending are always far more than you will see on any of the 9 Meet Up groups where our events are shown. Our parties are also promoted on Skiddle, Event Brite, Design My Night and our own website. We also have a big database of existing members as our club was launched in 1994 so we also have a lot of new people joining via recommendation. The Conservatory is a spectacular venue with a high, glass roof, big dance floor with podium in the middle and palm trees coming out of the floor. We have reduced bar prices in our function room bar. DRESS CODE Guys: Dress code is suit trousers and smart, plain long sleeve shirt and smart shoes as a minimum for men. Can even wear full suits or black tie outfits with bow tie if you have them guys. Ladies: It's dressy dress code so cocktail dresses or ballgowns are ok for this party. The minimum smart evening trousers and dressy top. Definitely NO jeans or casual clothes. SOCIAL CIRCLE ICE-BREAKER When enough people have arrived by 7.45pm we form a big circle with ladies on the outside and men on the inside. The men move to the right to chat to the next lady after 3 minutes when the whistle blows and this continues for 15 moves. LOCK & KEY ICE-BREAKER We will give one colour raffle ticket to the ladies and another colour ticket to the men at 9pm when most people have had a chance to arrive. The idea is to find the person of the opposite sex with the matching number and the first 10 couples back to the DJ win a small prize. This ice-breaker has proven to be a great success for those arriving later who are unable to arrive at 7pm for the main introduction part of the evening. FEMALE NETWORKING If coming alone ladies please let us know as we can put you in touch with other ladies coming alone on the female networking beforehand. Obviously you will meet lots of men at the events but ladies usually feel safer if coming alone with other ladies. Please message full name, mobile and email if interested in booking for June 15th. Regards Julie Davies (organiser of the club running this event)
