9.2 km return, approx. 700 m elevation gain.
Porcupine Ridge is the ridge that runs alongside Wasootch Ridge on the north. It is a classic ridge walk. There is no trail and there are some scramble steps. Follow Porcupine creek to the ridge and climb through the trees to a scramble step to gain the rocky ridge. The ridge features three gendarmes that can be manouvered around. The crux is a 10 meter section of knife edge that can also be avoided by dropping down the south side a bit. There are spots with significant drop offs on the north side of the ridge. we will go as far as is comfortable for the time of year and conditions. I have never done this ridge so it will be exploratory. Definately NO BEGINNERS.
