    Join award-winning professional sports photographer Leah Hennel for an exclusive Sony Canada sponsored workshop at the Olympic Oval at the University of Calgary on March 15th during the thrilling 2026 Oval Finale Speed Skating Competition!
    This immersive, hands-on experience gives participants behind-the-scenes access to photograph elite speed skaters in action, right in the heart of the competition. Attendees will have the opportunity to shoot alongside Leah Hennel, gaining real-time insights into capturing peak action, mastering indoor sports lighting, and telling powerful visual stories under pressure.
    Sony Canada will provide access to professional Sony gear, allowing participants to test and experience cutting-edge camera bodies and lenses designed for high-speed sports photography.

    About Leah Hennel:
    Leah Hennel has been following her lens for nearly three decades. It’s a pursuit that has taken the photographer everywhere, from small-town Alberta to countries all over the globe. The SAIT graduate got her start in daily newspapers at the Calgary Sun at the age of 16 and went on to an 18-year career as a staff photographer at the Calgary Herald.
    Leah has covered numerous Olympic Games on behalf of newspapers and the Canadian Olympic Committee and has also published two photography books — Along The Western Front as well as Alone Together: A Pandemic Photo Essay, which received the International Communications Arts Award. Her work has been recognized by Pictures of the Year International, the National Newspaper Awards, and the News Photographers Association of Canada. She also claimed the Sports Media Canada’s Outstanding Photography Award. And, in 2022, Leah received an honorary degree from SAIT. Her clients include The Globe and Mail, The Guardian, Washington Post, The Narwhal, Canadian Olympic Committee, Getty Images and more.

    About Jennifer Peters:
    Jennifer Peters is a Canadian Métis photographer and educator, and the founder of JKPeters Photography and Curiosity Refresh Workshops. After a 15-year career in the oil and gas industry, she chose to follow a long-standing creative calling, turning to photography as a way to slow time and document moments that carry meaning and emotion.
    With formal photography training from ACAD and SAIT, Jennifer brings together technical skill, intuition, and curiosity in her work. She shoots with her trusted Sony A7 IV and is drawn to subjects that evoke feeling. Focusing her sights on personal portraits, events, weddings and family moments (maternity & newborn).
    Through both her photography and workshops, Jennifer inspires others to see more deeply and create with intention. Her work has been exhibited in respected venues such as the Calgary Zoo and featured in various international publications. She continues to explore the quiet power of visual storytelling to preserve memory, spark connection, and remind us why moments are worth documenting.
    About Jon Jozef:
    Jon Jozef is a Calgary-based photographer and the founder of Jon Jozef Photography, specializing in fashion, lifestyle, boudoir, and pageantry. His work is defined by a bold, editorial aesthetic that blends luxury with authenticity, capturing not only striking visuals but the personality and presence behind each subject.
    Over the years, Jon has collaborated with models, creatives, and organizations across Canada, the United States, and internationally. From producing media for national pageants to creating high-end editorial campaigns, he is known for crafting imagery that tells a story and leaves a lasting impression.
    Beyond photography, Jon is deeply embedded in the creative community. He coaches pageant delegates on branding and presentation and leads Curiosity Refresh Workshops, immersive styled shoots designed to connect photographers, models, and brands. Hosted in cities such as Calgary, Vancouver, and Las Vegas, these workshops serve as a platform for collaboration, creative growth, and pushing visual boundaries.
