Session Title : U-SQL Production Analytics with Azure Data Lake
Time : 18:45 - 19:45
After a very quick overview of Azure Data Lake Analytics let’s get stuck into the technology. This highly scalable cloud service has been generally available for a few years now and its adoption for production workloads is rapidly growing. But is U-SQL just another transformation tool or can we unlock its potential as a powerful, scale out framework to manipulate our data in new ways? In this session we’ll explore that question and see how U-SQL can be applied to production data analytics solutions. Plus, our options for code generation and deployment in Azure with meta data driven workloads.
Speaker : Simon Whiteley
Session Title : Navigating the many faces of CosmosDB
Time : 20:00 - 21:00
“It’s one small click for man, one giant leap for Database kind”
CosmosDB is a many headed magical beast of a thing. Many people think of it as the next generation of DocumentDB, Azure’s original No-SQL document store, but CosmosDB is so much more.
This session will take the form of a discussion, running through the various flavours of CosmosDB and the scenarios where you might use that specific API. We’ll look at some demos, how each flavour is used and sketch out some architectures containing these flavours.
Once we understand it’s many flavours, we’ll take a look at the platform features – how it scales, distributes and generally earns it’s “Planet-scale” claims.
