What we're about

The Southbay Acoustic Musicians of Redondo Beach, CA are both experienced and novice musicians who like to get together and play for fun. It doesn't matter if you are a serious professional or if you are just learning to play an instrument. The Southbay Acoustic Musicians welcome all that can be respectful to each other. Vocalists and those who play brass, woodwinds, bongos, drums are also welcome.

JOIN OUR GROUP IF YOU WANT TO LEARN HOW TO PLAY GUITAR TOO

Even if you don't know how to play an instrument but you want to learn, join our group! We host a variety of meetups including those dedicated to teach people how play guitar, bass, piano and other instruments. We currently offer piano lessons and vocal lessons and vocal coaching as well. We will help get you on your way to becoming a more confident jammer.

Also, you don't have to be a performer to join our group. You can just come and watch us perform at any number of Southbay public parks and coffeeshops. There are an abundance of parks and outdoor beach areas in Southbay Los Angeles and we will take advantage of these free public places to meet. You will see us playing around bonfires, in parks, on piers especially as it warms up in the spring and summer.

As our group develops some of us may perform at local clubs or charity events. Our group will help them get into clubs, and the rest of us get discounts to watch them perform.

Wilderness Park Weekly Acoustic Jam and Practice Session

Weekly Practice Session in Wilderness Park 2/17/2019::::: The current plan is to meet at the park and see what our collective comfort feelings are. If its raining or really cold, we have a fall back plan. Come spend your Sunday afternoons jamming in Wilderness Park with some fellow acoustic enthusiasts! We meet at the end of the parking lot. It can get chilly, its a good idea to bring a jacket or sweater. Bring a chair unless you prefer to stand. WHEN: 1:00PM-4:30PM The park closes at 4:30, so we usually play from about 1:00 to 4:00 and then we start winding down. WHAT TO BRING: We have a selection of songs to choose from. You are encouraged to bring music to share (at least 10 copies, please). Avoid songs sheets in size 8 fonts and be sure that the music has the chords as well as the words. Looking for songs? Check out this list: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yOA6jg1W1eWEeZ9eg0IU2gNgchRzk2J8/view?usp=sharing. WHO SHOULD COME: All skill levels are welcome. If you don't have anything in particular that you're working on, you are still more than welcome to come along and hang out or help others. We can always use extra singers/players! If you have any questions or if I missed anything, please let me know. This is a practice session. If you are a beginner and don't feel like you can keep up with the group to play a song, come anyway! It's great practice, fun, and you'll learn a lot! Looking forward to seeing everyone there! Thanks!
