So what is Little Band?
It is a breakout group from the general SCU membership that focuses on advanced ukulele ensemble music. The intent of LB is to advance your skills, work on more complex music, perform or busk in the future.
Here’s what you need to know to feel comfortable in this group.
* LB is best for the intermediate-advanced player.
* The songs and arrangements usually will have multiple parts with a mix of chords, finger-picking styles and strum patterns.
* Players need to be able to read tab and/or read music notation for the uke.
*Players need to have some experience and comfort with finger-picking and a variety of strums.
*Practice prior to sessions is expected.
Hi SCU! We have another chance to see if we can gather Steel City Ukulele players and guests to come out in the City and jam in the large and airy Atrium at Bakery Square in East Liberty. Three hours of FREE parking in the garage. Bring a stand (or play at a table) your ukulele or your guitar, actually ANY musical instrument, your music, and a friend to sing along ….plus your fun attitude. Maybe a comfortable chair.
The adjacent Gallery is open for food and drinks until 4:00 PM….there are a lot of other restaurants right near by.
Please Come at 1:45 to set up and talk. We will start playing at 2: 00 and will end before 4:00.
