What we're about

Welcome to Suburban Cyclists Unlimited! We are a non-profit community of recreational cyclists riding at various paces as we tour the roads and trails of our surrounding counties in Southeastern Pa, predominantly in Montgomery and Bucks. Weekday and weekend rides are available as well as social and bike events throughout the year.

You can visit our club website at www.scu.bike

You can join this Meetup to get notifications of upcoming rides. It is open to members and prospective members. As a Meetup member you are welcome to try some of our many rides as a guest. If you like riding with us (we promise you will), we hope that you will join the club by going to https://tinyurl.com/scumembership . When you join the club you will enjoy benefits such as discounts at local bike shops, participation in club social events, a discount for our Century rides, club riding gear and more. Membership is only $25 per year for an individual and $35 per year for a family.

Hope you will join us for a ride soon! Please remember to bring your helmet and your smile.

Wednesday Flourtown "B" Night Ride

Flourtown Shopping Center

This is the nighttime Fall/Winter continuation of the Flourtown "B" Ride. Please join us for rides in Montgomery county from 25 to 35 miles at a pace of 16 +/- mph. We will not drop anyone, but please be sure that you are capable of maintaining the advertised pace including some hill climbing.

I am planning to maintain a group size of no more than 15 riders and will follow the SCU COVID-19 Mitigation Measures found here: https://suburbancyclists.org/docs.ashx?id=809824 If there are more than 15 riders, then we will subdivide into more than one group.

I will post the ride route in advance to the comments section for download to your device. Please RSVP. No Cue Sheets will be available. Rain, snow, or ice on the roads will cancel the ride. If you have any questions, please post in the Comments section.

A strong headlight and taillight will be required for riding at night. High visibility clothing is also strongly recommended.

Friday Frolic w/LMc, Every Friday throughout the year, weather permitting

Flourtown Shopping Center

FRIDAY FROLIC w/Linda. THIS IS THE GENERIC DESCRIPTION. SPECIFIC DETAILS WILL BE POSTED ON DAILY CALENDAR FOR EACH FRIDAY.
Level B-: 14mph, 45-50, +/- miles, based on the weather. Start location to be determined. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk, or snow activity. As long as we are enjoying outdoor exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing. Cue sheets will be available.
