What we're about

The Sunday Assembly is a secular congregation that celebrates life.

Our events on the second Sunday of each month are generally 75 minutes filled with music (80s and 90s pop hits), inspirational talks, poetry and art, donuts and coffee, and more... followed by a potluck!

We are radically inclusive - everyone is welcome, regardless of their beliefs (or lack thereof), their sexual orientation, their age, gender, or politics.

Our events are free for all to attend, though donations are appreciated. We do not accept sponsorships. Childcare is provided.

Our Motto: To live better, help often, and wonder more.

Annual Northern California Assemblies Picnic

Lake Temescal

Last September we had fun bringing together people from Sunday Assemblies, Silicon Valley, Sacramento, and East Bay at our picnic; and even someone from SALA came to join us! Let’s do that again with this lakeside picnic! This will be potluck style, so bring food, beverages, and games to share. We have a beer and wine permit, so feel free to bring these as well. Family friendly! Dogs on leash or follow voice commands are welcome as well! Suggest you comment to coordinate carpools, as well as what you would like to bring to help people gauge to bring a variety of items. Our picnic area is on the south end of the lake. The closer Southern Parking Lot is smaller. The Northern Parking Lot is bigger and should have ample of spaces, but expect a 0.4 mile walk to our site. If you bring large amount or bulky items that require assistance, please let us know and we’ll come meet you with something on wheels to help, especially if you are parked in the Northern lot. Look forward to seeing everyone!
