Sunday Assembly: The Dream/12th Birthday!
Odd Fellows Lodge, 823 Villa Street, Mountain View, CA, US**We're moving** to a space that accommodates us better! Starting this month, we will hold our Assembly at the Odd Fellows Lodge in Mountain View (823 Villa St, Mountain View 94041)
Join Us for an Uplifting Celebration of Life!
10:45 - Coffee, tea and mingling
11:00 - Program
12:00 - Potluck - Bring something to share!Program
SASV member, Richard Treitel, will talk to us about how the Apollo and Skylab programs made him optimistic that his dream of humanity as a space traveling, space dwelling species was just around the corner, how that dream remained out of reach for decades, and why he thinks the corner is finally being turned.Richard has been a Silicon Valley software engineer for over 35 years, and has loved science fiction and science non-fiction for 55. He also loves his children, his road bike, dancing, and cooking food nobody else wants to eat. He was a founding member of SASV, of a square dance club, and of the Space Access Society. He has lost an undisclosed sum by investing in space-oriented startups. (What's money for, anyway?) He has even written software for a nuclear fusion research institute.
Interested, but not sure what to expect? Find out here!
