Advantages and Perils of Investing Out of State

Details

This month we’re honored to present Mr. Bobby Sharma. We have a long-standing relationship with Bobby and we’ve always admired the very cautious and considered approach he takes to making any business decision, especially his real estate investments. Remember Warren Buffet’s first rule of investing? Never lose money. His second rule: read rule #1.

Bobby will be speaking to us about the advantages and the perils of investing out of state and what to look out for as you explore remote investment opportunities. Bobby's insights into remote investing will potentially save you a ton of money and headaches.

Bobby Sharma bought his first house and "house hacked" it (before it was a term) when he was 24 years old. The rent from two roommates paid for the mortgage and most of the taxes and insurance.

In 2010, Bobby Sharma started buying homes to fix and flip at the court house steps locally and in the Midwest. Bobby stays away from flips now and is primarily a private money lender to his friends that like to rehab. Bobby is also a partner in Roof4All.com which operates over 700 affordable housing residences (aka "Section 8") in the midwest. In addition, Bobby is Managing Partner in https://BetterTurnKey.com, a provider of high quality, high cash flowing turnkey properties across the south and midwest.

Meetups at the Embassy Suites in Santa Clara on Thursday's are $15.00, payable at the door. Cash, check or credit card will be accepted at the door. No online payments are available at this time due to a change in the meetup payment policy. Sorry for any inconvenience. If you have questions please email menlofunding@gmail.com

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the 2nd Thursday of February being Valentine's Day, we moved this month’s meeting ONLY to Wednesday February 13th.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Agenda for this meeting:

  1. Introductions and open mic time (please bring your flyers, cards or other promotional materials. Please limit your mic time to 60 seconds or less. If you would need more time, please contact the promoters to schedule your presentation.)

  2. Topic 1 - Private Money Lending/Partnering. Designed to give Private Money Investors and/or prospective Private Money Investors valuable information on the process of lending money to or partnering with rehabbers.

  3. Topic 2 - Case Study. Designed to give beginning and prospective Rehabbers information on how to succeed in finding, analyzing, fixing and selling Bay Area houses.

  4. Networking

My partner Dean and I buy UGLY houses for pennies on the dollar, remodel them beautifully and sell them for top dollar. We call ourselves “The UGLY House Magicians” and I’m sure you would agree that it does take a little magic (and a lot of hard work) to locate these bargains and turn them around in such a short time. We will explain more about what we do and why trust deed lending makes good sense in today’s market.

Seating is limited so reserve your spot right away.

Where: Embassy Suites Santa Clara - Delegate Room

When: All meetings are held on the Second Thursday each Month at 7:00 p.m.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the 2nd Thursday of February being Valentine's Day, we moved this month’s meeting ONLY to Wednesday February 13th.

Thank you,

Joe Metz & Dean Higa
