I have taken on a new role in my company that is focused on understanding different types of sensors (mainly Radar, LiDAR and Camera) and how they can work together to make autonomous driving better and safer in the future. Koito and North American Lighting (NAL) are industry leaders supplying exterior automotive lighting to OEMs worldwide. If you are interested in sharing ideas about sensors or have an idea you would like to develop please feel free to join. I will try and host these once a month. Refreshments and food will be provided.

About the Presenter: Dr. Ramachandran has 20+ years of expertise in the technology sector bringing advanced IC and system products to market and scaling them to high volume. Prior to Cepton, he was VP of Product Management at Velodyne. He also has a long history in the semiconductor industry and as a VP at LSI, he helped pave the way for its eventual sale to Broadcom (Avago). He has a B. Tech from IIT, Madras and a Ph.D. from USC. What he will be speaking about: With a plethora of lidar technologies and startups in the market, it’s important to separate interesting ideas from solutions viable for the mass market. This talk outlines Cepton’s path to mass market lidar and perception solutions, and highlights the deep collaboration with NAL and Koito that propelled Cepton into the top tier. TR will also provide an overview of why and how lidars are proliferating across many markets beyond traditional AV and ADAS.
