Torrey Pines Gliderport to Cabrillo National Monument

Details
Cabrillo National Monument is one of our more scenic rides - with ocean views all around once you reach Pt. Loma. To make the ride accessible to all levels, we will be starting at the Torrey Pines Gliderport in La Jolla. The total distance without any scenic detours is ~40 miles with no more than 1100ft climbing. Depending on the number of leaders we round up and interest, there are options for additional scenic detours through Pt. Loma Nazarene campus, adding the Tide Pool hill, and/or returning through Liberty station.
We always have a lot of fun on this ride and enjoy our snack overlooking the view down to downtown.
C group route: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/7279105 (direct route, 40 miles out & back round trip).
Please park somewhere along Torrey Pines Scenic Dr and meet up at the cul-de-sac just before the Gliderport entrance (more room to assemble there without getting in the way of cars).
Please bring:
-
At least one spare inner tube and frame pump or CO2 canister (threaded is best).
-
At least one large water bottle and some snack for self.
-
If you have a National Park Pass or a Cabrillo Park Pass or an active duty military ID, please bring it! If not, please make sure to have $3 with you in case there are more of us than the passes cover (one pass is good for 4 riders. If not, entry fee is $3 per rider and is good for 7 consecutive days from purchase date. In the past, we've more people in per fee, but bring some cash just in case).
