Expand Your Tech Team Internationally Through Effective Communities

Details

Event description:
As women in tech community event host for the past 3 years, we've had lots of requests on tech talent sourcing/referrals and lots of these requests are from overseas. As some of our members are traveling to the US to join a few tech conferences in April/May, we'd like to reach out to local tech community leaders, women founders/execs and startup ecosystem to learn from each other.

In this Tech Talk, we will discuss when and how we would start looking for tech talent externally beyond our local market. We will invite speakers to share some of the best practices on managing a high performing team virtually, how to reduce your risk, and ways you could leverage known networks and community to scale.

Founders or Company Execs' Perspective:

Mo-Yun Fong is the Director, Operation Excellence, gTech Velocity at Google that will share her thoughts and initiative on women in tech and diversity practices with remote teams

Kaus Manjita will share her experience of trying to overcome the challenge of expanding their talent pool internationally. What factors she considered when forming a tech team outside of Silicon Valley and what support she got from the local communities.
