Meet the Speakers:
Yaakov Nemoy (http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=24693717&authType=NAME_SEARCH&authToken=ooDJ&locale=en_US&srchid=1474091911377730949850&srchindex=1&srchtotal=1&trk=vsrp_people_res_name&trkInfo=VSRPsearchId%3A1474091911377730949850%2CVSRPtargetId%3A24693717%2CVSRPcmpt%3Aprimary) came from a background in Open Source advocacy and technology. He is now building a DevOps company that is by engineers and for engineers. He likes to dabble with Puppet, Chef, AWS, working on multi-homed and globally designed websites and can talk your ear off about scaling. He also consults with web shops to improve the Operations process to enable developers spend more time developing. His favorite website is the kind that doesn't wake him up in the night with pager calls. When he isn't working or when he is working, he herds cats and enjoys his scotches.
Feel like you're getting too caught up in the ops weeds? How many servers do you SSH to daily? We're going to talk about what DevOps is and isn't. Come understand what a well built process looks like. If you're ops, dev or even a designer, Yaakov will explain the questions you should be asking and what you should know so you can focus on doing the work you love.
Daniel Nowak (http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=3771144&authType=NAME_SEARCH&authToken=zDMQ&locale=en_US&srchid=1474091911378843368583&srchindex=1&srchtotal=139&trk=vsrp_people_res_name&trkInfo=VSRPsearchId%3A1474091911378843368583%2CVSRPtargetId%3A3771144%2CVSRPcmpt%3Aprimary) is currently a Technical Operations Engineer at Technorati Media. He uses his previous career in customer service to deliver outstanding support to both his internal and external customers. He believes that if your DevOps job is waking you up at 3:00 AM for downed servers you are doing it wrong. He believes working with your operations and development teams can restore work life balance while still delivering an outstanding product. In his free time you can find him either teaching at the local hacker space or participating in high adventure activities.
Delivering a fast moving exceptional product is challenging for both developers and operations. Both developers and operations have different rolls that often put them at odds with one another. It is the roll of DevOps to to bridge the gap between these two teams and unify them as one great team delivering a great product. With the right person in this roll you can create an awesome team that produces amazing results.
