Test in Production - San Francisco

Details
Meanwhile back in the Bay, one of our newest Developer Advocates, Yoz Grahame, will be hosting an evening of Test in Production. If you have a story you'd like to share, let us know and we'll add you to the speaker lineup.
Agenda
6:00 - 6:30pm: Networking, food, and drinks
6:30 - 8:00pm: Speaker presentations
“Testing in production - the need for a red light”
Testing in production is accepting the reality on the ground. App complexity and scale mean pre-deployment testing becomes harder, slower, and more expensive. Once we accept this reality, we look for other ways to mitigate risk.
Machine learning can help here by looking for bad stuff happening which may never have been seen before, and alerting us, usually with some indication of root-cause. I'll walk through an example of how this approach works from a database of annotated real-world incidents.
- Larry Lancaster, Founder and CTO, Zebrium
“Planning for the Outages You're Going to Cause”
We all test in production. And we will all cause an outage. In
this talk Ramin will talk about some of the work that can be done
before, during, and after the outage to keep trust between engineers,
teams, and the business.
- Ramin Khatibi, infra consultant at Tire Fire Heavy Industries
8:00 - 8:30pm: More networking and drinks
If you'd like to attend, please RSVP so we know how much food and beverage to order for everyone!
