Details

As usual, we’ll start with mingling over food and drinks, follow with presentations, and wrap up with Q&A.

Food and drinks provided.

Presentations:

  • Francisco (Paco) Veriamontes: Testing Kafka Streams with Test Machine
We’ll go through a quick overview Kafka Streams and Funding Circle's in-house Clojure library Jackdaw to develop and test apps and micro-services using Kafka as a backend.

Paco learned Clojure on the job and came to love the fundamentals of functional programming. He is talented on back-end architecture design, scalable virtualized infrastructures and performance optimization. He loves cats, beautiful design, web standards and learning new programming languages, open source tools and various systems of record.

  • Dustin Gets: Hyperfiddle talk + demo
Hyperfiddle is an easy way to make database applications with Datomic. At its core is a declarative Clojure abstraction over IO. Hyperfiddle's goal is to make it so application programmers never have to think about IO, async, latency or errors. If Clojure is really so simple and easy, that should bring programming within reach of new kinds of people who can't program today. This is our mission at Hyperfiddle.

Dustin is a co-founder of Hyperfiddle and has been a Clojurist since 2011.
