Hello dancers (both current and former)! The Dancer's Workout is a one-hour total body workout which integrates movement sequences from multiple genres of dance (ballet, lyrical jazz, contemporary, hip hop) while providing an exhilarating dance experience! Each dance class provides a thorough warmup and bite-sized instructional choreography which builds upon itself throughout the hour and culminates in a fun, high-energy dance to a featured pop song. Jazz sneakers or jazz slippers are best for this class.
The Dancer's Workout classes are perfect for women who used to dance who now want to dance their way back into shape and for active dancers interested in maintaining flexibility and cardio stamina. THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER'S DANCE CLASS. It requires previous training in ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop, gymnastics, and/or ballroom AND the ability to learn choreography and assimilate dance patterns quickly. It is perfect for current dancers and for former intermediate and advanced dancers, regardless of how long it has been since you have taken classes. Very friendly, supportive atmosphere.
If you would like to join us for classes, please join the meetup and RSVP within two weeks of joining. New members who do not RSVP for classes and/or stay true to their RSVPs will eventually be removed, as this meetup is for active class participants who are serious about coming to classes and getting or staying in shape by dancing their little hearts out. If this is your passion, we welcome you with open arms.
