Have Yourself a Merry Little ⚡️ Lightning Talk ⚡️
Details
SacJS is excited to announce our 12th meetup on Tuesday, December 19th at The Urban Hive on H & 20th St.
We're going to have some fun heading in to the holiday season by hosting a series of Lightning Talks!
A lightning talk is a short presentation lasting only five minutes. Being of such short length, it is a great way for new speakers to try their hand at presenting to our group. For more experienced speakers, it is a way to work on making a more concise presentation.
We are accepting talk topics on anything! If you can talk about it for five minutes, that likely means that you are passionate about it. We want to hear about your passions! You can talk about anything from Javascript, web technology, Java 6, bicycle repair, to flower arranging!
Submit your talk proposal by following the directions at https://sacjs.com/speaking/
Lastly, it wouldn't be a holiday party without some gift giving! We will be raffling off some prizes for those in attendance. Increase your chances to win by wearing your ugliest holiday sweater! Lightning Talk speakers and all past speakers for 2017 will also get an additional raffle entry. Speaking has its privileges!
Food and liquid refreshments will be provided by our sponsors
Hang around afterwards for Bevera.js and get to know your fellow community members!
Free Street parking is widely available in the surrounding area.
Please DO NOT park in the private gravel lot adjacent to The Urban Hive or you might get towed!
We want to see you speak! Submit your talk proposal by following the directions at https://sacjs.com/speaking/
If you would also like to sponsor or speak at one of our events, please contact us on GitHub, Twitter, #sacjs on the #SacTech Slack Team (http://sac-tech.herokuapp.com/), or Meetup.com. Remember, we love sharing any ideas that come from our Sacramento tech community. If you have a non-technical talk, that's ok! We'd love to have you anyway!
Lastly, don't forget to follow us on Twitter (@sac_js (https://twitter.com/sac_js)). Not on Twitter? Join the fun!
