An Evening with St. Lawrence Haven

Join The Catholic Foundation's Young Professionals Group as we travel to St. Lawrence Haven (http://www.holycrosscatholic.com/pages/campus_stlawrence.shtml) to learn about this amazing ministry.

We will tour the facility and hear from Heather Swiger of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (http://www.vincentianvoice.org/). She will share with us the wonderful works of this ministry.

Following the presentation and tour, we will meet at 16-Bit Bar + Arcade (http://www.16-bitbar.com/columbus) for networking and fellowship. The first few rounds of drinks will be provided by The Catholic Foundation's Young Professionals Group Leadership Team!

Given the nature of St. Lawrence Haven whereas 100% of their operations are funded by donations, we are charging a small fee of $5.00 to attend this event. 100% of the money we collect from RSVP's will be donated to St. Lawrence Haven.

About St. Lawrence Haven

St. Lawrence Haven continues to operate as a ministry of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. We serve the poor of the downtown area, handing out, on average, over 380 lunches per day, Monday through Friday. In addition, the Haven delivers groceries to over 600 people each Saturday.

St. Lawrence Haven relies on the very generous donations of food, primarily from Sanese Services, Kroger, Giant Eagle, and the Mid Ohio Food Bank. Individual St. Vincent de Paul conferences in the diocese donate over 5000 homemade sandwiches each month to supplement the food supply, allowing us to service as many clients that need us as possible.

St. Lawrence Haven is funded 100% by individual and SVdP conference donations, grants, and legacies to do this great work that Jesus calls us to do for Him. Faithful volunteers keep us viable and operating.
