What we're about

We have many amazing small theatres right in our own town!

Please sign up for an upcoming show at our specially arranged ticket price, & we'll be in the lobby to welcome each of you on the night!

We support the best little independent theatres and also attend the bigger more well known theatres. Our friendly group comes together in the lobby to mingle before the show, or maybe meet for dinner. You can even take your drinks into the show oftentimes! We’ll usually sit as a group and have a have a post show chat - sometimes wth memers of the cast.

- No Theatre experience or savvy knowledge required! First timers are most welcome:)

- Non-profit group
Our objective is to provide a fun and enjoyable social theatre experience. Independent Theatre has very little funding and most performers and theatre venues operate at a loss or break even. This is also true of our group, we have some overhead costs, plus countless volunteer hours by our hosts. We pass along the best discount we can in our ticket prices.

- All ages/backgrounds/nationalities/sydneysiders/travellers/friends/singles & couples are all most welcome to join our events.

We have several shows per month on all different nights to suit different availablties. We attend a wide variety from drama to comedy, traditional to modern & also musicals. Suggestions are always welcome.

We look forward to showing you Sydney’s Fantastic Theatre scene!

Bryon & Maggy

Note: 7 DAY or more advance purchase of tickets is often required to ensure our group seats are reserved. So please Sign up Early, and put the date in your planner:) If you missed out on group tickets, you can always buy direct from the venue box office for a little more money and booking fee, and come join us.

We'll End Up Together - CINEMA, NOT LIVE THEATRE.

Palace Central Cinemas

We'll End Up Together THIS IS A FILM NOT LIVE THEATRE - BUT IT GIVES US AN OPPORTUNITY TO GET TOGETHER WHILE MAINTAINING COVID 19 SAFE PRECAUTIONS. A light hearted film from the recent French Film Festival. Director: Guillaume Canet Actors: Gilles Lellouche, François Cluzet, Marion Cotillard When Guillaume Canet’s star-studded comedy Little White Lies exploded at the global box office in 2010 (achieving a stunning 5.2 million admissions), it seemed almost assured that the glittering cast would reunite. The challenge has taken nearly a decade to achieve, but the wait has been worth it. It’s been years since middle-aged restaurateur Max (François Cluzet) has received his friends at his gorgeous summer house in the chic beach community of Cap Ferret. The group have traditionally reconnected there for his birthday, but since things didn’t exactly go as planned last time, they haven’t seen much of one another. It turns out Max is divorcing and his villa is up for sale, so when pals Marie (Marion Cotillard), Vincent (Benoît Magimel), now-famous actor Éric (Gilles Lellouche) and his hapless buddy-turned-assistant Antoine (Laurent Lafitte) arrive unannounced to celebrate a significant milestone, it’s not necessarily a welcome surprise. Handsomely mounted and music-fuelled, We’ll End Up Together - the second highest-grossing French film of 2019 - is a story of long-term bonds and the joy of friendship, but also of suppressed emotions, personal and professional resentments, and the many ways having children can both fracture and cement social circles. Get your own friends together, and be dazzled by this raucous slice of rollicking, all-star fun. Due to the 4sqm social distancing regulations, ticketing is limited so please purchase your own tickets online via the link below and only after you have actually purchased a ticket then tick the RSVP YES BUTTON so that we know who is coming. https://www.palacecinemas.com.au/cinemas/palace-central-sydney/ The movie starts at 6.30pm. SPECIAL EVENT! Theatre Time debut: Kristiana From The Sea live stream

Online event

A$20.00

For the first time ever, Theatre Time has made an entire show possible! Due to the Covid 19 regulations, this play was cancelled just before it went to the stage. Fortunately, council granted our group the funds necessary to bring this production back to life, and share with all our members! In May, our Theatre Time group organizers Bryon & Maggy, applied for a grant to resurrect the show - and we won! We used the funding to hire a venue, pay the cast, pay the screen write, pay the crew required, in order to perform the show in front of video cameras and then share online with you! We thank Northern Beaches Council for the money to make this event possible, supporting independent theatre, and all the people involved. All of this was arranged with Bryon knowing very little about the play! We hope it's something we all enjoy :) Note: We didn't have the funding for large sets or extravagant costumes, so please understand we've scaled down these items. Two Live Shows: Sunday August 23rd - 3pm. This is the one you have chosen. Saturday August 29th - 7.30pm PLEASE NTOE THERE IS A SEPARATE EVENT TO BOOK FOR THE SATURDAY EVENING SHOW. About the play: Kristiana From The Sea - Two mysterious tales of drama and romance Written by Emma Willis, the two tales intertwine as the playwright's wife struggles with her bitterness at her husband's cruelties. Although set in 1950s, the play's themes reflect today's issues and absurdities. Produced by Factory Space Theatre Company Directed by Roz Riley PLEASE SUPPORT US BY BUYING A TICKET! ....however we understand some members are suffering financial difficulties during this time so if you can't pay please contact Bryon or Maggy as we don't want members to miss out.
