What we're about
We have many amazing small theatres right in our own town!
Please sign up for an upcoming show at our specially arranged ticket price, & we'll be in the lobby to welcome each of you on the night!
We support the best little independent theatres and also attend the bigger more well known theatres. Our friendly group comes together in the lobby to mingle before the show, or maybe meet for dinner. You can even take your drinks into the show oftentimes! We’ll usually sit as a group and have a have a post show chat - sometimes wth memers of the cast.
- No Theatre experience or savvy knowledge required! First timers are most welcome:)
- Non-profit group
Our objective is to provide a fun and enjoyable social theatre experience. Independent Theatre has very little funding and most performers and theatre venues operate at a loss or break even. This is also true of our group, we have some overhead costs, plus countless volunteer hours by our hosts. We pass along the best discount we can in our ticket prices.
- All ages/backgrounds/nationalities/sydneysiders/travellers/friends/singles & couples are all most welcome to join our events.
We have several shows per month on all different nights to suit different availablties. We attend a wide variety from drama to comedy, traditional to modern & also musicals. Suggestions are always welcome.
We look forward to showing you Sydney’s Fantastic Theatre scene!
Bryon & Maggy
Note: 7 DAY or more advance purchase of tickets is often required to ensure our group seats are reserved. So please Sign up Early, and put the date in your planner:) If you missed out on group tickets, you can always buy direct from the venue box office for a little more money and booking fee, and come join us.

ONE MAN TWO GUVNORS
By Richard Bean
Director Angus Evans
“I haven’t eaten since last night, I don’t get paid until next week, and I can’t stop thinking about CHIPS.”
Francis Henshall is sooooo hungry. He’s also unemployed. He needs a job, pronto.
Stuck in the seedy and slightly disreputable English seaside town of Brighton, an opportunity arises to become ‘minder’ to an East-End gangster, Roscoe Crabbe, who’s travelled down from London to reclaim a debt from his fiancée’s dad.
At the same time, never letting an opportunity go begging, Francis is also running errands around town for a posh twit named Stanley Stubbers.
Two guvnors, two paydays, two meal tickets. All he needs to do is keep them from discovering each other. What could possibly go wrong?
Acclaimed playwright Richard Bean has relocated the action to the swinging 60s and channeled the classic humour of Ealing comedies, Carry On films and Fawlty Towers, to bring fresh life to Carlo Goldoni’s 18th century Italian farce, The Servant of Two Masters.
This hilarious romp is a glorious celebration of the best of British comedy, a unique laugh-out-loud mix of satire, slapstick, skiffle music and sparkling one-liners.

CHERRY SMOKE
By James McManus
Directed by Charlie Vox
“Fish and I is in love. He just don’t know it yet.”
On the outskirts of Pennsylvania, 9-year-old Fish’s father throws him into the boxing ring, leaving the weight of the weekly pay-packet on Fish’s shoulders.
Through the years, Fish becomes a deadly amateur fighter with a short fuse. Cherry wants nothing but to be with her love, Fish. His brother, Duffy, and his girlfriend, Bug, just want to live their lives without being dragged down by him. And Fish is terrified of becoming his father. Is it all too much to ask? In this poetic and visceral drama that packs a punch, it’s a fight to change the life you know for the better.
