What we're about

We have many amazing small theatres right in our own town!

Please sign up for an upcoming show at our specially arranged ticket price, & we'll be in the lobby to welcome each of you on the night!

We support the best little independent theatres and also attend the bigger more well known theatres. Our friendly group comes together in the lobby to mingle before the show, or maybe meet for dinner. You can even take your drinks into the show oftentimes! We’ll usually sit as a group and have a have a post show chat - sometimes wth memers of the cast.

Note: 7 DAY or more advance purchase of tickets is often required to ensure our group seats are reserved. So please Sign up Early, and put the date in your planner:) If you missed out on group tickets, you can always buy direct from the venue box office for a little more money and booking fee, and come join us.

- No Theatre experience or savvy knowledge required! First timers are most welcome:)

- Non-profit group
Our objective is to provide a fun and enjoyable social theatre experience. Independent Theatre has very little funding and most performers and theatre venues operate at a loss or break even. This is also true of our group, we have some overhead costs, plus countless volunteer hours by our hosts. We pass along the best discount we can in our ticket prices.

- All ages/backgrounds/nationalities/sydneysiders/travellers/friends/singles & couples are all most welcome to join our events.

We have several shows per month on all different nights to suit different availablties. We attend a wide variety from drama to comedy, traditional to modern & also musicals. Suggestions are always welcome.

We look forward to showing you Sydney’s Fantastic Theatre scene!

THE FEMALE OF THE SPECIES

The Performance Space @ St Aidan's

THE FEMALE OF THE SPECIES By Joanna Murray-Smith This is being put on by Lane Cove Theatre Company which is a community theatre company. Thirty years ago Margot Mason, pioneer of the 1970s Women's Liberation movement and fearless academic, wrote her ground-breaking work and numerous best-sellers followed. Now she has writer's block. Molly, an unannounced visitor and committed fan of Margot and her work, offers a potential solution - until Molly produces a gun and calmly informs Margot that she intends to kill her because she blames her for warping her mother's mind and ruining her life with her hit book The Cerebral Vagina. Joanna Murray-Smith's deliciously wicked comedy deftly walks the tightrope between satire and farce proving the female of the species is not only deadlier, but funnier than the male." This play was inspired by Germaine Greer's experience of being held captive in her countyr house in Essex in 2000. Please purchase your own tickets via the link below & only after you have actually purchased your ticket then RSVP Yes. The show starts at 7.30pm so I wll meet you about half an hour before in the foyer. https://www.trybooking.com/book/event?eid=442105& 2019 membership is now available fee via the link below. DEAD CAT BOUNCE

SBW Stables Theatre

A$54.00

DEAD CAT BOUNCE By Mary Rachel Brown As if their 20-year age gap wasn’t trouble enough, Matilda’s fighting for space with Gabe’s long-time bedfellows: misery, booze and writerly angst. She’s not even convinced he’s over his ex-girlfriend and publisher Angela, who was hooked on picking up his pieces. If Gabe wants to get sober, he’ll have to abandon his image as tragic writer betrothed to the bottle. And if Angela’s really trying to let Gabe go, like her partner Tony needs her to, she should probably say goodbye to Gabe’s wretched cat—which she’s somehow still looking after. Mary Rachel Brown (The Dapto Chaser) wields her razor-sharp wit to ask painfully familiar questions around romance and addiction: how do we find the strength to be loved? Why do we cling to people intent on pushing us away? And how do we shake off the past, when the bastard won’t stop tailing us? Teaming up Brown’s deft understanding of human fallibility with director Mitchell Butel’s comedic expertise, Dead Cat Bounce finds humour in the everyday muck, with characters that hit rock bottom…and keep digging. Please RSVP Yes & pay for your tickets via the pay pal link that appears. The show starts at 7.00pm and I will meet you about half an hour before. 2019 membership is now available fee via the link below.
