What we're about

We have many amazing small theatres right in our own town!

Please sign up for an upcoming show at our specially arranged ticket price, & we'll be in the lobby to welcome each of you on the night!

We support the best little independent theatres and also attend the bigger more well known theatres. Our friendly group comes together in the lobby to mingle before the show, or maybe meet for dinner. You can even take your drinks into the show oftentimes! We’ll usually sit as a group and have a have a post show chat - sometimes wth memers of the cast.

So please Sign up Early, and put the date in your planner:) If you missed out on group tickets, you can always buy direct from the venue box office for a little more money and booking fee, and come join us.

- No Theatre experience or savvy knowledge required! First timers are most welcome:)

- Non-profit group
Our objective is to provide a fun and enjoyable social theatre experience. Independent Theatre has very little funding and most performers and theatre venues operate at a loss or break even. This is also true of our group, we have some overhead costs, plus countless volunteer hours by our hosts. We pass along the best discount we can in our ticket prices.

- All ages/backgrounds/nationalities/sydneysiders/travellers/friends/singles & couples are all most welcome to join our events.

We have several shows per month on all different nights to suit different availablties. We attend a wide variety from drama to comedy, traditional to modern & also musicals. Suggestions are always welcome.

We look forward to showing you Sydney’s Fantastic Theatre scene!

BONDI LEGAL and A LIFE HALF LIVED : THE NATALIE WOOD STORY

Hi everyone, There are 2 shows on this night A LIFE HALF LIVED : THE NATALIE WOOD STORY at 7pm (60 mins) and then BONDI LEGAL at 8.30pm. (90 mins) You can choose to go to both or either - but be careful when booking!! There is a discount "combo ticket" for both shows which is what I will be buying. A LIFE HALF LIVED : THE NATALIE WOOD STORY World Premiere : Hollywood royalty, Natalie Wood, was known for films such as Rebel Without a Cause, Gypsy, Splendour in the Grass, and West Side Story. From the outside, it looked like she had the world at her feet. But as we delve into the nuances that moulded her life, we see that behind the glamour and fame, Natalie Wood was terribly broken and fragile. For thirty years it was stated that, after her body was found floating in the Pacific Ocean, that Natalie Wood's cause of death was "accidental drowning". But only a few years ago alongside some newfound evidence, the case was reopened and we are now asking, was Natalie Wood murdered? BONDI LEGAL Hapless anxiety prone lawyer Brad Pitt ( no relation ) turns up to fill in for the day for a lawyer on holiday and is thrust unprepared into a complex court hearing. In the case a Bondi mother is suing a chemical giant because her daughter's show pony was ravaged by the company's cleaning product. Facing a lawyer who resembles a rottweiler and a scowling magistrate, Brad Pitt has to overcome the odds including a strange habit of passing out and waking up thinking he is a gorilla. Can he win the case on his own, or will some hypnosis get him over the line? This tenth anniversary production of Bondi Legal is fresh from a sell out tour of Tasmania. At the premiere it was described by Stage Whispers Magazine as "a funny and touching play." The comedy is based on an actual court case Tony Laumberg took on when he was a young solicitor. WIT

Seymour Centre

WIT by Margaret Edson directed by Helen Tonkin Vivian Bearing is 50 and in her prime. She has dedicated her life to deciphering and interpreting the metaphysical poetry of John Donne and is a highly respected Professor at the height of her career as an English literary scholar. But she’s just found out she’s dying. Wit isn't a play about death, it's a play about life. All of life, and everything that makes us who we are. As Vivian comes to terms with who she is; mind, body and soul, we're left to ponder - can we conquer death, or at least our fear of it, by the way we live our lives? FANGIRLS - musical

Belvoir St Theatre

FANGIRLS Book, music, and lyrics by Yve Blake Director Paige Rattray This is Edna. She’s 14, and she’s in love with Harry. There’s just one problem: Harry is in ‘True Connection’ – the biggest boyband in the world. When True Connection announce a tour stop in Edna’s city she realises this is her one chance to convince Harry of their destiny, and she’ll do anything – ANYTHING – in the name of true love… Fangirls is a thrilling new musical by a barnstorming young talent called Yve Blake, who is also playing Edna. She’s joined by a cast of new young faces with brilliant voices for a show that’s Beyoncé concert-meets religious revival, with a wicked sense of humour, about love and other big feelings in the age of the internet.
