Decision making: how do you make decisions and who should make them?

Details

Much of management and leadership is about making decisions so we all need good ways to do this, be it decisions that we make alone, decisions that we empower others to make, or decisions that we make as a group.

During this discussion we will discuss all of these decision making scenarios so that we can share experience and best practice amongst the group.

In advance of the discussion, please consider;

  • Does your organisation have a process for making decisions? When do you use it? How well does it work?
  • Is it OK to make ‘gut feel’ decisions, and if so, under what circumstances?
  • Do others make the ‘right’ decisions in your absence? How do you encourage them to do so?
  • Does democracy play a part in decision making within your organisation? Should it?

This discussion is hosted by Peter Cain, meeting from 17:30 ready for an 18:00 start. We look forward to seeing you there. Peter, Rory and Andrew
